The Complaint:
We purchased a Persian Kitten from N.Y. Mews in June for $700. I flew home with the Kitten and my wife and kids met me at the airport. They brought a little box and when the Kitten went #2, it was diarreah. To make a long story short, we spent the entire summer cleaning up our house from our Kitten tracking his own fecies around the house. We spent $300 in vet visits and drugs. We also spent about $100 in special foods for the Kitten with NO results. The cat crapped about 3 times a day and urniated about 7-8 times per day. In the end, Sally Dockstader eventually admitted that our Kitten had IBS in his lineage, but she continued to tell that the cat had stress, or our water source was bad (we fed it filtered water.) After one bout of cleaning up crap on our new berber carpet at midnight, we decided that we could no longer deal with this (and our four kids), so we expressed interest in sending our cat back to N.Y. Mews. Instead, Sally Dockstader posted an add in a Chicago paper for a "free Persian." Quite frankly, they did not care where the cat went, as long as they didn't have to spend a dime. They currently have about 15-20 cats for sale on their website and I am affraid that they are a "kitty mill" only doing this for profit (especially since the husband is out of work." To date, there is no refund, and they continue to tell us that we did everything wrong and we didn't follow the contract. They are angry that we didn't IMMEDIATELY send the kitten back, even though my wife and I were trying to help this kitten. Find a different breeder if you are looking for a Persian
